Ross & McBride LLP

Ross & McBride LLP was founded in 1890 and describes itself as Hamilton's largest and oldest law firm. The firm hires only through a standalone articling process — it does not run a 2L summer or 1L program, and does not participate in the Toronto/LSO-coordinated OCI recruit. Articling students have no formal rotation and may work across any of the firm's practice groups by choice.

In August 2022, Ross & McBride became the first firm in the Hamilton region to sign the Law Firm Diversity & Inclusion Network (LFDIN) Statement of Principles, and the only regionally based Hamilton firm to join the network (then ~40 member firms).
